High in the Groom Creek pines
Six miles south of downtown Prescott, the road climbs into Groom Creek, a quiet, deeply wooded pocket of the high country where the ponderosas grow tall and the air turns cool and resin-sweet. This three-bedroom cabin sits right in it, the kind of place where you arrive, exhale, and feel your shoulders drop.
Inside, a stone wood-burning fireplace anchors a great room with handcrafted log furniture and room for everyone to spread out. The full kitchen (dishwasher, coffee maker, the works) opens to the dining table and a comfortable living area with a smart TV. Three bedrooms (two kings and a queen) and 2.5 baths sleep six in comfort, and an in-unit washer and dryer makes a long week easy.
Decks, a hot tub, and a sky full of stars
The real magic is outside. The cabin sits on 1.5 acres that back straight onto Prescott National Forest, so the wildlife turns up at the fence line. Covered porches and decks wrap the house, there’s a fire pit for after dark whenever the county fire ban is lifted, and the seven-person hot tub is open all year, at any hour, which is the perfect end to a day on the trail. Groom Creek Loop and Spruce Mountain are practically out the door, Goldwater Lake is three miles away, and Whiskey Row and Courthouse Square are 6.5 miles down the hill.
It’s no surprise guests rate it ★4.99. Come see why.
Please note: this is a pet-free, smoke-free cabin.

Good to know before you book
- The driveway is steep. Four-wheel drive is required in the winter months, though any car manages it once the snow is gone.
- The last quarter mile is dirt road. It's county maintained and fine for any car.
- There's a staircase up to the cabin, and two of the three bedrooms are on the second floor.
- Two vehicles park at the top of the driveway, plus garage space for one car. There's room at the bottom for a trailer.
- There are exterior security cameras on the property. The home's alarm system is switched off for your whole stay.
- No smoking anywhere on the property, inside or out.
- Yavapai County runs a strict fire ban most of the summer, so the fire pit is off limits then. The propane grill is always fine.
Two of those come up often enough that we wrote them out properly: what winter driving in Groom Creek is actually like, and why we stay pet-free.

What guests say about Groom Creek Getaway
“Felt like staying at a relatives home. We felt so welcomed. This is one of the first AirBnBs that did not feel like a BnB. We cooked nearly every meal and the appliances are all higher end with a gas stove. Great TV with all the features and fast internet. The bedding and beds were so comfortable, we woke up relaxed and at peace. Laurel was very responsive and offered surprises in the home. She went beyond hospitality and we are extremely grateful. Enjoy your time as we did.”
